Whereas, We must not forget the lessons of the past and Tradition will help our cities develop;
Whereas, A strong, reliable Monarch shall unite our people and bolster morale;
Whereas, Under the banner of a beloved Monarch our soldiers will defend our lands with greater vigor;
Therefore, be it resolved:
Section 1: Monarchy
- The President or Streamer shall adopt Tradition and the Legalism and Monarchy policies before any other policies, with the exception of:
- Policies authorized by other laws.
Section 2: Monarch
- Immediately when this bill is signed into law or the Monarchy policy is adopted, whichever occurs later, the position of Monarch shall be established.
- The government requests that Moderation create the Discord role of “Monarch”, to be applied to any Monarchs.
- The Monarch may officially be referred to as the Monarch or the King.
- The Monarch may freely establish additional alternative titles for themselves, such as the Queen or the Emperor.
- The Monarch may advise the President on all matters.
- The Monarch may establish official names of geographical areas and locations.
- Names established by the Monarch are secondary to any names established by law.
- The Monarch may officially knight any citizen.
- A knighted citizen may use the title of Knight or Knight of the Round Table.
- The title of Knight is kept indefinitely, but may be revoked by the Monarch or by decision of the Supreme Court.
- The government requests that Moderation create the Discord role of “Knight”, to be applied to all Knights.
- The Monarch may request that a Celtic unit which has never been renamed be named after one of the Knights. The President or the Streamer is authorized to fulfill this request.
- Each Monarch shall have a Celtic Great General named after them, using the Monarch’s preferred form of the title and preferred name.
- If at least one Celtic Great General which has never been renamed exists when a new person receives the Monarch title, one of those units shall be named after the new Monarch.
- If no such unit exists at that time, then the next Great General obtained by the Celts shall be named after the current Monarch.
- This Great General is considered to represent the Monarch on the field of battle.
- In their duties as the Great General, the Monarch is obligated to follow the orders of the President.
- If the Monarch Great General is used to construct a Citadel, it shall be considered the Monarch’s royal palace and the Monarch shall name it.
- The first such Citadel shall be named “Camelot”, unless the Monarch chooses otherwise.
- The title of Monarch is kept indefinitely.
- The Monarch title may be lost in several ways:
- The Monarch loses their title if they are killed in their duties as Great General.
- The Great General is not considered killed, if it is expended as a result of performing one of its actions.
- The Monarch may abdicate.
- The Monarch may be removed from this position by decision of the Supreme Court.
- The Monarch is subject to rules of impeachment, same as elected officials, and may be removed from this position as a result.
- The Monarch may select any other registered voter as their successor. In the event of the title being lost in any way, the chosen shall immediately become the new Monarch..
- If a situation occurs in which the Monarch title exists and is vacant, such as immediately after the Monarch title is created, the following process shall occur:
- A 48 hour nomination period shall begin immediately.
- During this time any registered voter may nominate any other registered voter for the position of the Monarch.
- No person may nominate themselves,
- Nominations must be made publicly.
- Within four days after the end of the nomination period, a 24 hour Ranked Pairs vote shall be held.
- The winner of the vote shall become Monarch.
- In the case of a tie, all nominees tied in first place shall become Monarchs.
- If there is only one nominee, the vote shall be skipped and the nominee shall become Monarch immediately.
- If there are exactly two nominees, the vote may be conducted as a simple majority vote.
Section 3: Round Table
- The Round Table shall be established as an official body, consisting of the Monarch and all current Knights.
- The government requests that Moderation create a Discord channel for the Round Table, where only the Monarch and Knights may post messages.
- The task of the Round Table is to advise the Monarch.
Section 4: Dungeon
- The Monarch may sentence any citizen to the Dungeon.
- The government requests that Moderation create a “Prisoner” Discord role for sentenced citizens and a Discord channel for the Dungeon, where only the Monarch, Knights and Prisoners may post messages.
- Prisoners retain their full rights to unimpeded participation in elections, political offices and all other Democraciv activity.
- A Prisoner may be released by the Monarch or by decision of the Supreme Court.
