Military Awards and Service Record

Purpose: The purpose of this legislation is to preserve the military history of the Celtic nation, recognise exceptional service by military personnel and units, and ensure that the achievements and sacrifices of those who serve are permanently recorded for future generations.
Section 1: Military Archives:
- An archive / record will be made. The document will register every military unit (Naval, Air and Army) and will document the unit’s; type, name, date of creation, turn of death / disbandment, active status, any awards / medals given and service record (key points in unit history). *
- The record must be constantly updated by the Ministry of Defence and/or the President.
Section 2: Medal types;
- The medals listed below can be given to both government officials and units:
- The Field Ribbon – Awarded to participants of a major military campaign, war, or significant national operation.
- Pioneer of the Highlands - Awarded for contributions to exploration, expansion, settlement, or the development of new frontiers.
(Honours important contributions to national growth and development.) - Highland Citation – Awarded to individuals or units that demonstrate exemplary performance and bring distinction to the republic.
- Medal of Wales Coast – Awarded for exceptional service in naval operations, coastal defence, or maritime exploration.
- Shield of the Republic – Awarded for the successful defence of a city, territory, military position, or national interest.
- Silver Oak Cross – Awarded for distinguished service and dedication beyond the normal call of duty.
- Red Oak Cross – Awarded for extraordinary courage, heroism, or sacrifice in service to the nation.
- The Founder's Star – Awarded to the founding members of the republic, the first military units raised, or individuals who make a defining contribution to the nation's establishment.
- The Golden Laureate – Awarded for extraordinary service to the Celtic Republic and reserved for the nation's most distinguished citizens, leaders, and military units.
Section 3: Awarding Authority
- Any citizen, government official, or member of the armed forces may nominate a unit or individual for a military decoration.
- Recommendations shall be submitted to the Ministry of Defence and must include a brief justification outlining the actions or service that merit the award.
- The following authorities may approve awards:
- The President;
- The Ministry of Defense; or
- A simple majority vote of the Senate.
- The Golden Laureate, Red Oak Cross, and Founder's Star may only be awarded by:
- The President; or
- A majority vote of the Senate.
- Any removal of a military decoration must be approved by either:
- The President and Ministry of Defense acting jointly; or
- A two-thirds vote of the Senate.
- Any award, removal, or amendment to a recipient's record must be accompanied by a publicly available citation explaining the reasons for the decision.
- All awards, removals, and citations shall be entered into the Military Awards and Service Record alongside the recipient's service history.
Section 4: Publication
- The Military Awards and Service Record shall be maintained as a public document and be accessible to all citizens of the Republic.*
