Sacred Groves Protection Act

Whereas The establishment of a strong organized religion shall be a great boon to the Celtic nation; and,

Whereas The sacred groves, or nemeta, where Druids perform their rites, are of great import to our existing religious practice; yet,

Whereas The forests containing these nemeta may also contain resources which are of economic or strategic importance to the nation, such that the removal of the forests would be necessary for their extraction;

Therefore, be it resolved:

Section 1: Restrictions on the Removal and Improvement of Forests

  1. The President or Streamer may not have Workers remove Forests nor build improvements upon Forested tiles directly adjacent to any City owned by the Celts, unless one of the following conditions obtains:
  1. There are four (4) or more unimproved Forests adjacent to the City.
  2. There are exactly two (2) unimproved Forests adjacent to the City.
  3. The Forest’s removal or improvement would be necessary to connect a Luxury Resource.
  4. The Forest’s removal or improvement would be necessary to connect a Strategic Resource of pressing importance.

  1. The President or Streamer may not have Workers remove Forests in the second or third ring of tiles surrounding a City owned by the Celts if the Celts adopt the Sacred Groves Pantheon Belief, unless one of the following conditions obtains:
  1. The Forest’s removal would be necessary to connect a Luxury Resource.
  2. The Forest’s removal would be necessary to connect a Strategic Resource.
